Membership

How does a Peak Bakery membership work?

We've designed the Peak Bakery membership to be straightforward:

  1. Begin your membership by selecting the Base Box and Add-ons product as well as your preferred delivery frequency.
  2. Your Peak Bakery Box will be delivered right to your doorstep based on your selected delivery frequency.
  3. Store your Peak Bakery products in your freezer until you're ready to bake them, which only takes 30 minutes!

You can modify your delivery frequency, reschedule your next charge date, or cancel your membership at any time using your Member Account.

Why is Peak Bakery focusing on membership?

Peak Bakery's breads and pastries take over 3 days to prepare, compared to the average supermarket loaf's 20-minute process. For an artisan company like us, it's challenging to source high-quality ingredients and hand-shape each product without knowing approximately how many members we need to serve each month.
By joining Peak Bakery as a member, you're consuming healthier products, supporting a small business, and reducing food waste!

Does the membership have a minimum time commitment?

No, there is no minimum time commitment! You can cancel your Peak Bakery membership at any time by emailing Member Support at info@peakbakery.ca or through your Member Account.

Products

How does Peak Bakery ensure its products are healthy?

We believe in simple ingredients, easy-to-understand labels, and using "clean" ingredients without preservatives or artificial additives. Our sourdough bread also offers health benefits, including easier digestion, increased nutrient absorption, and improved gut biome health.

What makes Peak Bakery's sourdough bread different?

Unlike many commercial "sourdough" breads, our sourdough is naturally leavened with a fermented mixture of flour and water, containing wild yeast. This slow fermentation process digests gluten and provides additional health benefits like increased nutrient absorption and improved gut health.

Why you must have a peak pan to bake our bread?

The Peak Pan is what allows you to imitate the effects of a deck oven (used in bakeries): It will keep the moisture of the dough trapped to create the perfect environment for the bread to rise and the crust to become crispy. It will also act as a heat shield to avoid burning the frozen dough!

What courier does Peak Bakery use for shipping?

We use multiple carrier such as Purolator, Novex and FedEx. The transit time for a Peak Bakery box is typically between 1-2 business days, depending on how near you are to our nearest fulfillment center.

What type of packaging does Peak Bakery use for their box?

Your Peak Bakery box will come with the following packaging:

  • Box: Your Peak Bakery products will be shipped in a recyclable cardboard box.
  • Insulation Liner: To ensure that your Peak Bakery products stay cool during transit, we use a cardboard insulation liner that is also recyclable.
  • Dry Ice: We include dry ice to keep your Peak Bakery products cold during transit. Most of the time, the dry ice is in block form and each block is inside a kraft protective paper (recyclable). The dry ice cover are not sealed; they need to remain open for evaporation.
  • Divider: Sometimes, a cardboard piece will sit between the dry ice and the products to keep them separated. It can be recycled.
  • Gel Packs: Occasionally, we supplement the dry ice with gel packs. Our gel packs are not toxic and recyclable, you poor down the sink and put them in the recycle bin.
  • Products: Peak Bakery products are packaged in freezer-safe vaccuum sealing bag. This type of packaging should be discarded in the trash. We are continuously searching for eco-friendly options that would allow us to keep our pricing and food quality.

Do I need to be present to receive my Peak Bakery box?

No, you don't need to be home to receive your Peak Bakery box since we ship it without a required signature for delivery. Our Peak Bakery boxes are packed with dry ice insulation, and sometimes with additional gel packs, to keep the items cold for several hours upon delivery. However, you should plan to unpack your Peak Bakery box and put the products in your freezer as soon as possible. After the carrier confirms delivery, you are responsible for the box.

Will my items remain cold during transit?

Yes! Each Peak Bakery box is packed with an insulation liner, dry ice, and sometimes even gel packs to ensure that your products arrive cold. The amount of dry ice and number of gel packs is personalized based on your zip code's distance from the our fulfillment center. Don't worry if your Peak Bakery box arrives with no dry ice remaining; the dry ice is designed to evaporate during transit, and we calculate the amount so that little-to-no dry ice is left when the box arrives.

What if my Peak Bakery box arrives thawed?

Most of the products in your Peak Bakery box items should remain totally frozen during the transit. Some of them might be softer to the touch (e.g. softer dough like brioche or croissant).
If the products in your box are slightly thawed upon arrival, it’s okay as long as the products containing egg and/or dairy are still below 4 degres Celsius (e.g. cold to the touch). Place the items of your box in the freezer as soon as possible.

If the products feels warmer than your fridge temperature, please email support at info@peakbakery.ca

Do we deliver to PO boxes?

Our carrier can't deliver to PO boxes as they won't leave the box there. Please provide the address of your home and the driver will drop the box by your door!
